Hardmac has some fun information about the life expectancy of solid-state drives (SSDs) here. After writing over 250TBs of data some of the cells are reaching their 10,000 cycle life expectancy limit.
The good take-away from this is that under normal* use SSDs should last reliable for years.
* I'm not sure normal use qualifies for video editors since we thrash drives with HUGE files often.
